What is Garden Club?
The Garden Club is a community of students, teachers, and parents who learn together about sustainable gardening practices and healthy choices while serving our neighbors. Students who participate in the Garden Club plant, water, weed, harvest, and provide general care for the plants in our school garden.
All produce grown is donated!

When does the Garden Club meet?
Generally, the Garden Club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Who can join the Garden Club?
The Garden Club is open to students of all ages and grades!

New for 2019-2020!  Volunteers Needed!
One of our primary goals is to provide every student at Laurel Park with the opportunity to engage with our school’s edible garden. After successfully piloting garden “mini lessons” across all 1st and 4th grade classes in spring 2019, we are rolling out garden mini lessons aligned with the LPES science curriculum across all grade levels and tracks during the 2019-2020 school year. We are actively recruiting garden lesson facilitators for each classroom to lead two mini lessons (approximately 30 minutes each) in the garden, one lesson in late summer/early fall and the second in the spring. This will be a very low time commitment and previous gardening experience is not required! Each lesson kit will include step-by-step instructions for the activity, discussion questions (with answers), and all needed materials. We are excited to offer this fun new opportunity to engage with your child’s class!

Please contact us if you’d like to learn more or
help out with the Garden Club or Programs.
