Where:Laurel Park Elementary, Art Room
What:Come join Cooking Up Character, a character building leadership service project club, at Laurel Park Elementary. Children will develop their character by learning new skills and applying them in a monthly service project. Our community service will focus on these areas: Our School, Our Families, Our World (Nature), Seniors, and Our Community. Some sample projects are: building & painting wooden planters for your neighbors, learning about importance of butterflies (taught by Crowder Park Staff) and planting a butterfly garden, visiting with seniors to sing holiday songs and help them make mini gingerbread houses, making dessert treats/thank you notes for firemen at a local Fire Station to thank them for their service to us, and lots more! The projects will help children learn to focus on the needs of others and learn new skills at the same time! If there is a service project that you have in mind, that means a lot to your family, please send me an email. We will have club t-shirts to wear during our community service outreaches. Parent Volunteers Needed and Welcome! More details on each project to follow after registration. Registration limited to 25 students. More details on club at www.cookingupcharacter.com.
