Please register your student using this form as early as possible. Registration helps us to organize and plan the event and assure that your student is judged in the correct category.

When are Science & Engineering Fair projects due?
Students can turn in their Science & Engineering Fair projects on November 26th 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM in the Media Center
Please be sure that your student's name, grade, track, and teacher are written on the back of the project board.

Rules:
  1. Students cannot bring any live animals, dangerous chemicals, microorganisms or mold to school.
  2. While students may require some parental guidance and assistance with their projects, the project should be student led.  Projects suspected of parental over-involvement may be subject to disqualification.

Please see our FAQs provided below. If you still have questions, reach out to us at [email protected].
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do we need the Science & Engineering Fair?
The purpose of the Science & Engineering Fair is to provide our students with the opportunity to further explore their natural curiosity and engage in scientific investigation. Participating in the Science & Engineering Fair promotes students’ interest in learning science, technology, and engineering.

Who can participate in the Science & Engineering Fair?
All of our students (kindergarten through fifth grade) are welcome to submit a project to the Science & Engineering Fair. Students in third through fifth grades may choose one of these two categories to enter:
  1. Project for fun
  2. Project to be judged for eligibility to enter the NCSEF Regional Fair
All projects will be judged, but those hoping to advance to the NCSEF Regional Fair are judged in more detail, as they must carefully follow the scientific process.

Are group projects allowed?
Yes! Students may participate individually or in groups of two or three students.

Will students receive support in designing their projects?
Yes! Students will be able to work with Mrs. Trent, STEM teacher, in designing and executing their projects. If your student has additional questions or needs additional support, reach out to us at [email protected].
